Denny Likmabam (born 10 March 1976) is an actor from Manipur. Phairenthagi Angaoba Leichil, Kaorage, Khuji, Nungshi Hekta Hairage, Hi Sweety Hello Preety and Hiyai are some of the popular films where he acted in a lead role. In 1997, Denny Likmabam joined Sanaleipak Nachom Artistes Association (a Shumang Leela group) as a part-time musician in the orchestra section. He had completed the first year classical music course from Government Music College in 2001. His first appearance in Shumang Leela was in Sanaleipak Nachom Artistes’ Association's play Sajibugi Leihao, where he played a police officer (cameo appearance) in the last scene. He joined Peace Maker Artistes' Association in 2002. Under the group, he played the first lead role of Arjun Singh in the play 21st Century's Kunti - Part I. It earned him name, fame and money. In 2006, he joined Lamjingba Artistes' Association and continued till 2016. He established a new Shumang Leela group known as Maami Artistes' Association in July 2016. Mantrigi Macha, Khongngu Nanggi Banshi are some of the notable plays performed by the group. He started shaping his career in movies since 2000. Iboyaima Khuman introduced him to Premjit Naoroibam, Managing Director of Kangla Films. The 2000 movie Echelsida is his first film, where he acted with Kamala Saikhom. He is also the leading actor in the 2002 movie Lammei, the first Manipuri video film to have a commercial screening at a theatre. In 2013, he acted in Makhonmani Mongsaba's Nangna Kappa Pakchade where he essays the role of a lawyer. It participated in Ladakh International Film Festival. He is known for his versatility in acting. In 2012, he starred in Mamta Murthy's non-fiction movie on Manipuri cinema Fried Fish, Chicken Soup and a Premiere Show. In movies Khuji and Radha Rani, he played antagonistic roles. He took the role of an army officer in School Shooti and a doctor in Amamba Lambee. In Cheitheng Amana, he played double role. Likmabam is an approved drama artiste of All India Radio, Imphal since 2008 and a casual anchor of Doordarshan Kendra Imphal. Likmabam received B Kennedy Memorial Award in 2004 and Pafila Films and Artistes' Award in 2006 for his contribution in the field of acting. He was also nominated for Best Actor Award for his role in the film Kaorage at the First Festival of Manipuri Cinema 2007, organised by Film Forum Manipur.
