Oken Amakcham

Oken Amakcham started his career as a theatre worker since 1978. He is a graduate in Arts and has a degree in music (hatkhande). Oken is a well known actor-director. He has acted in more than 25 Manipuri films. He has directed 17 feature films - both video and celluloid, including one documentary. His film Kho111lza11g was selected for the Indian Panorama as well as for the International Film Festival oflndia 1993 in New Delhi. The film was also selected for inclusion at the Singapore International Film Festival 1994. His film Mayop/zigee Macha won the Rajat Kamal for Best Regional Film at the National Film Festival 1995. His filmAroiba Bidai won the Best Feature Film award at the 4th Manipur State Fi Im Festival 1999. His Tele-films Eiklwida Lakpa Mee, Tlwnil Thashi Thanil and Atichi were telecast on Doordarshan, Guwahati and Imphal.
