Cheina (2002)

Thabal is an honest Pradhan who is dedicated to the development of his village. His wife Thanil supported him with equal gentleness and commitment. Tharo, who is a close friend of Thanil is married off to Thembung, against her wish. Her lover, Thambousana, who had gone away for further studies, is unaware of the marriage. Thambousana keeps his love alive through letters. Fearing the wrath of her notorious husband, Tharo asked Than ii to hide her letters for her until she could return them to the sender. One day, Thabal is shocked when he finds the love letters. He cannot believe that his virtuous wife can betray him. He suspects an illicit affair. On a full moon night, Thabal strangles his wife to death. Thabal is unable to bear the agony when he finds out that the love letters were not Thanil's. He returns the letters to Tharo. The guilt of killing his lovely innocent wife torments him (till death).
