The story of the film revolves around a Sandrembi necklace (five mohur of real gold) which is gifted by Mellei (Roshan) to his love interest Thaja (Jasmin), but soon, she neglects Mellei and gets married to another guy from Bangalore, Manglem (Prem). The film ends with Manglem finding out that the Sandrembi necklace is a fake one.
