Assamese film producer, director, three-time National Award winner born in Nazira, Assam. Degree in botany and lecturer at D. R. College, Golaghat. Started as producer (e.g. Mamata, 1973), then made several successful features as well as documentaries and TV serials (e.g. Sandhyatora, 1993; Dainandin and Torali, both 1994).
