Ningthoujam Balli

Ninngthoujam Balli Meetei, hailing from Imphal, Manipur, India, is a seasoned film editor with over two decades of experience in the industry. His expertise spans across various domains including complete satellite news channel setup, graphic design, live multicam video mixing, film editing, sound mixing, motion graphics, and visual effects (VFX).

Balli’s skill set is extensive and includes team leadership, graphic design using Adobe products such as Illustrator and Photoshop, video and film editing with Adobe Premiere Pro, film mixing with Steinberg Nuendo, motion graphics and VFX using Adobe After Effects, and digital intermediate processes using DaVinci Resolve.

Throughout his career, Balli has worked as an editor on numerous commercials, music videos, and over 100 feature films. His dedication and talent have earned him several accolades. He was awarded Best Editor at the SSS MANIFA in 2013 for the film “Western Sankirtan (2012),” and received recognition at the All India Children Education Audio Video Festival in 2018, organized by NCERT, Ministry of Human Resource, for the film “Thang-Ta.” In 2023, he was honored at the Roots International Film Festival for the film “Journey.”

In addition to his editing achievements, Balli was also recognized for his audiography skills, winning the Best Audiography award at the SSS MANIFA in 2023 for the film “Awaiba Mapu (2021).”

A significant milestone in Balli’s career was in June 2018, when he set up the first-ever privately held satellite news channel in Manipur, TOM TV, where he served as the Head Editor and Chief Technical Officer. His contributions have significantly impacted the media landscape in Manipur and beyond.
